On St. Peter's Day, in July every year, Macedonians enjoy the three day extravaganza of music, dance, food and wine. Traditional costumes are worn and customs observed and both tourists and locals participate.

You could also try and time your Macedonia holiday to catch the fun, frolic and fever of the Vevchani and Strumica carnivals. Held on the night of January thirteenth, the Vevchani Carnival is a fall back on pagan elements, a street theatre of unique dimensions. The Strumica Carnival is another fun filled event when people wear masks and costumes and go from house to house, amidst laughter and singing.
